Gallery Mission Statement: The visual arts involve ways of thinking, looking, and making that are integral to all of life. spaces curates exhibits that show how art is connected to the intellectual, social, environmental, personal, and career lives of our students and visitors.

spaces, the gallery at The Cultural Center at Eagle Hill, is a venue for the arts in the heart of rural central Massachusetts on the campus of Eagle Hill School, a private co-educational college preparatory boarding school for students with learning disabilities.

What makes us smile? What brings on laughter? It’s time to lighten up, get silly, pile on the whimsy and glee. If you use humor in your art, this season’s exhibits are for you!

There will be a number of exhibit opportunities throughout school year 2010 - 2011.  The first exhibit will be in mid-October. We seek submissions that play with the theme of humor. Art in a wide variety of media: painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, paper, textiles, and installation can be accommodated including very large 2-d work. All accepted artists should be willing to interact with our students and faculty through participation in an activity such as giving a presentation or workshop.

Submission Requirements: 

To be considered, artists must submit the following:

1. One copy of a current resume.
2. Images of 6 or more work examples relevant to the theme, presented in high-resolution jpeg format on a CD labeled with the artist’s name and contact information, accompanied by an image list that includes artist, title, media, and dimensions.
3. Brief artist’s statement relevant to the theme.

These materials will not be returned. They will be kept in the spaces data base.
